Sir,right now the plans to extend the line from CMNR to Mettupalayam has been cancelled as the Ministry of Environment and the forest dept have filed a petition which says it would be going through dense forests for 58kms.These forests are supposedly home for elephants and other endangered species.2nd and 3rd pf's are basically for future plans for more trains will be extended upto CMNR from MYS.

@Jimmy - My guess that in the future more trains terminating at MYS will be extended to CMNR. This was a long pending demand of the residents of CMNR as well. This has started with extension of the TPTY-CMNR fast passenger to CMNR. However in the future when more trains are extended, the other platforms would cater to the same. There are no stabling/pit lines anywhere though.

@Abhilash - This rake had stickers of "BJP-Dilli chalo" pasted on all the coaches. Each coach was allocated to one district and the same was scribbled on the stickers. Wonder what it is doing in CMNR though.

Which is that rake on the middle line? I can see Sleeper class coaches in this formation. And what is it doing at Nanjangud Town? The only train on this route with reserved accomodation is the 213/214 Chamarajnagar-Tirupati Pass.
