@Zubin: No. The part between Khandwa and Kalakund is well maintained and the MG train does upto 75 km/hr (it did at least when I travelled last year)

Mughalsarai Overkill - Chunar Re-Discovered

Great album of the busiest station of IR. Yesterday, I was at Kelve Road and spotted 60 trains in 6hrs. What traffic must be there at MGS? Hats off to the dedication of the signal cabin crew and the entire staff for managing such a busy station 24 * 7 so efficiently. In winter, when there is a fog problem, it's still going to be a daunting task.

The presence of semaphore signals in an electrified area is very strange.Are these present throughout the section or only in the yards?Don't they infringe on the OHE?
Usual practice on the IR is to simultaneously commission colour-light signalling along with relay interlocking whenever electrification takes place.
