have faint memories of travelling on Chetak Exp as a kiddo. That was way back in 1975. At that time it was YP/G hauled.

Apurva is right - this train is headed towards Pune. I assumed from the barrenness (see next picture) that the train is headed away from Pune City!

These pictures are truly historical - they are connected with IR and also show the industrialisation of Poona (now Pune)- which would not have happened without IR. The men and women in the pictures are pioneers of industialisation of Poona. Thanks a lot - Harsh - for sharing this heritage.

At the point of time when this factory was constructed, folks would have considered this area to be out of Poona City. Today, Hadapsar is a part and parcel of Pune !!

Nice to see IR officers dressed smartly in suit and tie. These days even the higher officers come to the office wearing jeans, jackets and sneakers.
