Old Sangam Bridge

This stone bridge shown in the picture above would be to the west of the Railway bridge currently being used. I am saying this as the Railway track runs north to south here.

If the new girder bridge was constructed in 1926-1927 time frame, then can we find out if this new bridge construction has got something to do with the DC electrification.

I think that this is the stone bridge one needs to cross while going to our Appu's house in Pune from the station !!

Old Sangam Bridge

For those not knowing Marathi, the caption reads : The stone bridge heading towards the Court, on which currently vehicles ply, was once used by the trains. This bridge was constructed around 1857.

My question, is this the bridge to the north of the present railway bridge?

Fantastic! Can't speak for now, but a few years back, one could see original GIPR name plates on the steel bridge from the stone bridge.

Is this a B/W picture or is it a total white-out due to snow?

@ Bahadur sahab, sorry, but you stand corrected. That is a half-pant indeed. If I would fold my dhoti or lungi up, I would naturally do it so that the shirt gets 'tucked in' by the upturned lungi. Very difficult to fold my dhoti or lungi with the shirt hanging out.
And going by the style of wearing the dhoti, I would say this fits into the north-Karnataka-Maharashtra territory...

Correction - the person nearest to us is probably not with a half pant but also wearing a lungi - in a folded fashion, as seen in southern parts of India.
