Whenever the semaphores are decommissioned or replaced by MACLs, usually a wooden crossbar "X" is placed on the semaphore arm, or the arm is taken off. Here I see no signs on semaphores with their arms in place, not sure why?

Superb shot!!! This is a very unique Cross-over, there was one at Villupuram Jn. in Tamilnadu, where the MG line ran parallel to the BG line from Tambaram in Chennai to Villupuram and the MG line crossed the BG line and proceeded towards Mayiladuthurai as main-line and the BG line went to VRI as chord-line!

Observed the same during my Aravali Exp. trip last year. Isn't this known as a dual-gauge track? If I am not mistaken, a gauntleted track is where the MG track is completely within the BG one, such as this one - http://indiarailinfo.com/file/blog/post/222792/450062/dscf0164.jpg
