This is the first pic of Doon Exp on the server. This train was regularly hauled by MGS WDM 4 during yesteryears. I have fond memories of the WDM 4 whine, sitting in the 2nd and 3rd compartments. This board was installed at this location when a lot of 'train parting' incidences (CBC coupled rakes) were attributed to sudden jerks imparted by quick notching up while starting a goods rake which was not properly 'bunched up' in stationary position. There is some blurring of the board due to low resolution picture. Here it is what it reads "Engine chalak" next line in red "chalte samay savdhan rahiye" and the last three lines in black font "Is isthan aur Lucknow yard ke beech zhatke ke saath chalne ke kaaran anek baar gadiya bahukhandit ho gayi hai." I think that these semaphores are nonfunctional. Well my train was just leaving Faizabad and is at the split and is moving towards the semaphores. On the FD-ALD line, you can also see one more single semaphore ahead. This may be functional though. Posted by Samar on 2007 Oct 28 16:25:04 +0000 |

i think the rebuilt locos can easily be identified looking at their headlights...where in normal locos the twin beams comes in usual round plates.
