It's actually a WDG3E. From when did Express trains start getting WDGX locos?

The working rule on the Braganza ghat says that the leading loco during the descent and the banking loco during the climb have to be equipped with the AEB. The loco is probably attached at Londa on the rear of the loco so that once it unloads at Sanvordem (or Vasco ?) - the KJM power would just work the empty rake through the ghats all the way to Hospet. The rake would be banked through the ghat (climbing) with AEB equipped WDG 3As - but the KJM power would be leading during the climb.

Are you standing next to the Cab? Is this a special livery?

Looks like the trailing loco also has crew in it.

The vertical extensions at both ends of the loco seem to be blocking the view of the driver. What does he do? Hang his head out of the window?

This looks ghastly! The poor old NDM1! Apurva, is this actualy in service since you mentioned the cummins engine being retrofitted on it? If so, any more units in use apart from 501?

Retrofitting of a Cummins engine (and its associated radiator) in the slot of the original MWM prime mover has resulted in this strange looking hood design.
