This rebuild is a Gooty initiative? Only Gooty has redone their locos like this. I think the dynamic brake grid is on top of the SH. There seems to be a GM type radiator fan on SH of this loco which maybe the louver for the dynamic brake? I wonder why we are playing around with the tried and tested American Alco designs than run succesfully through out the world. Hope no more such rebuilds are made to the beautiful ALCO design

Siddharth - The MPS for the ADI-NDLS line is 105. It doesn't make a difference if the loco is LHF or SHF. In any case, on the return trip, the loco will be SHF.
Jimmy - This is just before Khodiyar, on the outskirts of ADI. A loop line has been pulled up. The line on the right is MG, and it is not a new line. I have seen this livery for the first time, though I suspect it has been there for the odd loco.

Where is this place? An MG yard has been pulled up? The new line on right is BG or MG? Looks like MG to me? Do you have side profile of this loco? This is a new Vatva livery?

Now days the ADI raj runs on LHF. Isn’t there a speed restriction for LHF alone?

ewwww... is this is due to the shifting of DBR coolers to the top? Also note the absence of air-intake (nostrils).

A truly pathetic job on the majestic shakti.

Jumbo looks awesome in this monsoon picture...and with the rumbling double engine and the heavy rain....It would also had been a feast for the ears too...

Thanks a lot. Yes, the rake is of Tea Garden itself.Thats why you see three General Sitting nxt to the front SLR. There are 4 behind the back SLR too. I think the regular twin beam blends more into the ALCO design. Nice that Deepak noted it.
