John M: Old tunnel still very much there, Jay. I mentioned it being expanded to fit the Expway - that was wrong. there are two separate tunnels, and the old tunnel being used for DN road traffic...correct.

From Jay B: John, Thanks a lot for this sketch. New NH4 cuts right across the reversing station! Also looks like the old catch siding embankment ridge has also been partially cut for the NH4 alignment. From the sketch, it looks like the old tunnel #24 is being used for the expressway down road traffic? I think you had mentioned that it was closed. Please confirm. Thanks again.

The purpose of this pic was to show that the shape of the hills do not change for a long time. I would be uploading pics of the land near the reversing station - one has to strain to see similarity between the older pics and the current hills due to severe weathering/erosion. The above location and the reversing station are just 1.5 Kms apart, so the weathering at the reversing station is man made.

Neil, Yes indeed, the lines to the right are the catch siding.

Great comparison, Apurva....in fact the tiny speck on top of the hill is actually a tree that still stands proudly today.

Is the line immediately to the right of the engines the catch siding?
