A scan from the same book showing tunnels 23 (?) at the Mumbai end of Monkey Hill - please note that the ridge in the front has not weathered much as compared to this pic from Dec 2003- http://www.irfca.org/photos/apub/mhc5. Monkey Hill. By Apurva (iti@vsnl.com).

The purpose of this pic was to show that the shape of the hills do not change for a long time. I would be uploading pics of the land near the reversing station - one has to strain to see similarity between the older pics and the current hills due to severe weathering/erosion. The above location and the reversing station are just 1.5 Kms apart, so the weathering at the reversing station is man made.

Great comparison, Apurva....in fact the tiny speck on top of the hill is actually a tree that still stands proudly today.
