VikramanThis is the smoothing Reactor, which is connected between the rectifier and the Traction motor. It smoothens the Pulsating DC from the rectifier to a Steady DC. Yes Sriram. The red one is used o equalise the MRs of all the MUd locos. As you know all the MRs in a loco are connected in series. Hence a single pipe is enough to equalise the MRs of all the MUd locos. The other one is BRAKE CYLINDER EQUALISING PIPE.
