DMW Patiala doesn't exactly build new locos, but assembles them from components sent by DLW, the same way as Parel workshop does. Also, it appears that the short hood of the loco is slanted, like the one in the one of WDM3F. But is it really slanted or result of lens distorton when open fully wide? Isn't Diesel Component Works an older name Diesel Loco Modernization Works. DMW has taken to building new locos. The info is there on the webpage itself which says "During 2010-11, DMW has rebuilt 110 locos including 1 new ALCO WDM3D Loco" Posted by R Viswa Chandra on 2011 Dec 05 06:37:16 +0000 |

Shanx..just sent u the orig pics of the loco to help decide if there is a slant in the hood. I was worried the WAG9 would get the starter anytime to X-over to mainline, so clicked without stepping back, and composing the shot :)
