Alok: This humanoid logo is not typical of TATA shed, but it is the logo of "Electrical Engineering Service" (or something similar) of SER. Thats why you find lot of BIA (Bhilai) & TATA locos with that logo. The practice is now discontiued and you find them in the rather older locos only.

True. But I think IR should become less stringent about standards and should keep a bare minimum standard for such work while allowing sheds and zones some freedom in designing the rest of the schemes. This way, IR gets what it wants and so does everyone else. For example, the Railway Board should specify exactly how the numbers must be written on the front of the loco while leaving it to the shed to decide how it must be painted on the sides according to their own paint schemes.

I forgot to add, there is a trip shed at Ajni but it is a pain taking locos there and bringing them back in the already congested section unless they need some form of light repair or maintenance and so locos are not sent there.

Hello Jimmy! Nope, unfortunately, there is none in Nagpur yard. As a result, locos are stabled on a loco stabling line. Locos do not stand at this place anymore. It has since been extended and merged with PF No.3 The line to the left of this one now acts as a stabling line and can hold 7 locos. There is a large shed right in the middle of Nagpur yard on the Delhi end but that is used by NGP for repairing coaches of all things!!! They do not seem to ahve their priorities set right!

Great pics. Interesting font for the road number. IR has some standards for stenciling the numbers, eg, so many mm high, so many mm wide etc and has position to write the road numbers, eg so many meters from both ends etc. Also there is a specific font to write the road numbers, class, shed name (similar to Arial). This does not seem to follow any of these. Was this a trial or prototype of the 6P+DB+HS version WAM 4? The Humanoid symbol still exist on some WAM 4's of AJJ, transferred from Tata

Lovely pic of the tunnel 24. The path that led trains up the reversing station can be only just seen on the right side. With so many railfans out near the tracks, the species (Swaran in this case)are bound to appear in the pics :-)

The Vijaywada-Vasco express normally crosses the Vasco-New Delhi Goa Express near Dudhsagar. The train in the background could be Goa Express.
