Lovely shot. Appu, the concrete bridge itself is steel-reinforced and it does not separate steel rods outside to do any more reinforcement. My guess is that these rods are for bolting the modular spans to each other so that they do not get displaced by earthquakes or strong water currents during floods. There is a Cement factory at 3rd KM when you travel from AJJ to KPD. It must be a cement factory shunting loco. I saw a loco resembles this at Dalmiapuram (Kallakkudi Palanganatham) where Dalmia cement factory is. Posted by Ramesh on 2007 Apr 16 06:33:37 +0000 |
