@ Binai - You got it right mate.. infact the loco doesnt go in beyond this point due to the extra width in the cab. The sidewalk / catwalk also has broadened that means only at this point on. If you watch carefully, the left side of the cowcatcher has two levels, the upper level (the section that holds the buffer ) is broader and thats same on the right as well

I second Pawan on that.. the dippy has lost the menacing looks. This one looks more like a toy version.
