Note the American style (?) single lamp signal in front of the locomotive. Never seen this before, any idea of the function and current status of this signal?

Is this really a YP? This loco has a longer chimney, different headlamp position, missing smoke deflectors? Look at Krupa's pics in the other comment for comparision.
