The first two visible numbers `77**' on the cabside would indicate that it a HPS class locomotive. But then Central Railway never had any HPS locomotives and all HPS engines starting with 77 were with Northern Railway. It could be a recent transfer. It ...

Could this be an example of the early colour light signals introduced? It is a two aspect signal though.

Note the American style (?) single lamp signal in front of the locomotive. Never seen this before, any idea of the function and current status of this signal?
