Interesting you noticed! The number is so small it is normally missed incase you dont peer for it. It looked a wee bit better this way and hence I put it this way.

Rohit, is this a mirror image? 22627 reads backwards! :-)

Thanks Mohan. The mainline is not in a very good condition here and i believe the problem persists till Roha, the next station towards Ratnagiri. This is CR territory and the real fast runs start after Roha

Yes indeed, worked Kalka -Simla and similar to ZF on Kangra Valley. I guess this loco and others were displaced by diesels. The DRLR had a real collection of 'gems'including some ex Central Railway A/1 2-8-4 tanks. I heard that the railway was abandoned after a strike and the locos left where they lay.If this is true they represent a real gold mine and would be snapped up by heritage railways in the UK.

Lovely picture - stood out among the thumbnails! Looks like a crossing station on some desolate branch line instead of a major route. Is the mainline really that unkempt?

Bachau was the worst hit town in the 2001 earthquake and suffered near to 100% damage. The station building and anciliary structures were also rebuilt after the quake. Some pre-quake elements like the tree seem to have survived..;-)
