Does this loco look familiar? Hiding beneath the Dehri-Rohtas Light Railway livery of Rust&Grime is ex IR'K' class #536 sold out of mainline service in 1967 to become #27 in tne DRLR fleet. Some rough welding has taken place to leaky tanks. Surely one of the ugliest loco designs ever but I guess they have their fans? Photo taken 1980

Yes indeed, worked Kalka -Simla and similar to ZF on Kangra Valley. I guess this loco and others were displaced by diesels. The DRLR had a real collection of 'gems'including some ex Central Railway A/1 2-8-4 tanks. I heard that the railway was abandoned after a strike and the locos left where they lay.If this is true they represent a real gold mine and would be snapped up by heritage railways in the UK.
