Quilon to Sengottai
by Sandeep Mohan
The approaching train is the Tirunelveli-Quilon Express and it was the longest as it had a couple of Medical Relief vans attached next to the locomotive
Approaching Sengottai. Im not too sure if the coaches on the right are another set of MG Medical Relief vans
Closed Box MG wagon next to what looks like a testing device for Vaccum brake equipped rakes
We approach Tenkasi Junction. This is where the newly laid BG line starts and goes to Madurai.
We arrive at Tenkasi Junction. After Sengottai speeds were close to 70 Kmph. Another thing i missed mentioning in aprevious photograph was the board that said 30 Kmph during day time and 28 Kmph at night for the ghat sector
Paddy fields are all thats there on the Sengottai-Tirunelveli run. If its the romance of traveling by MG; this is it.
A nice rear view of my train where you can see the small glow from the guards van light
The MG Steam days saw a lot off people traveling with their shirts taken off to beat the heat. I guess this old man wants to re live the glory days. This is Kilakadaiyam
Does this station havea anything to do with some Tamil Dynasty. Mahadevi? I need someone to help me with this station name
Pulling out of Cheranmahadevi station in Diesel style. I just wish this was still steam.
