The Fading MG Lines of Rajasthan
Glimpses of the meter gauge lines from Rajasthan. Sections we covered during our five days sojourn in the Land of Kings include Jaipur -> Churu, Churu -> Sikar, Sikar -> Loharu, Sadulpur -> Hanumangarh and Ratangarh -> Sardar Sharh -> Ratangarh.
One fine morning, when the winter cold breaks apart to the arriving summer, we found ourselves at Ringas Junction. To the is the Churu bound MG fast passenger and to my right is Phulera and Rewari BG line. Ringas have 4 platforms, 2 each for MG and BG. (R

While Benhur, Harish and Raghu were riding by the 06:05 passenger, Hari Kishore and I, had already reached Sikar by 04:40 passenger. Our first spotting was the diesel shed at Sikar. (Naveen)

Most stations on these routes had grilled booth to store potted drinking water. Often they are placed within the shade of trees. (Naveen)

Few minutes later, the Delhi bound Superfast Express from Bikaner takes a long sweeping curve to enter Churu junction. (BenHur)
