The Fading MG Lines of Rajasthan
Glimpses of the meter gauge lines from Rajasthan. Sections we covered during our five days sojourn in the Land of Kings include Jaipur -> Churu, Churu -> Sikar, Sikar -> Loharu, Sadulpur -> Hanumangarh and Ratangarh -> Sardar Sharh -> Ratangarh.
Phulera based YDM-4 #6563 would be the power of Ratangarh Jn - Sardar Shahr Passenger. (Naveen)
Cute gesture! Town or village, you would always spot children waving at the passing train! (Hari Kishore)
The Ratangarh - Sardar Shahr MG route have fantastic desert landscape! Note the in-numerous Tyre tracks getting lost in the slope. (Naveen)
As we had noted in the many other MG lines of Rajasthan, its a practice of almost all LPs / ALPs to carry food to feed these eagerly awaiting dogs enroute! (Naveen)
Peacocks are so common on this line! Particularly at Dulrasar we found many peacocks that were not shy of human presence around. (Hari Kishore)
The loco is reversed for the 18:40 service back to Ratangarh Jn. (Naveen)
