For exactly the same reason (forces created by slack) and as a general rule, 4 wheeler stock is never marshalled in a consist where it is between 2 8 wheelers. It is ok for 2 or more 4 wheelers to be between 8 wheeler stock but not for a single 4...

It is ok for 2 or more 4 wheelers to be between 8 wheeler stock but not for a single 4 wheeler. Of course all of this is almost irrelevant these days given that only block rakes are run by IR - as against mixed freights in the early days.

That is because this small wagon cannot bear the buffing(slack-in and slack-out)forces when coupled in between two coaches/goods wagons and is prone to derail.It will be put behind a 75/100 kmph goods train after the caboose and yes,that unlucky driver has to not exceed 60 kph.They won't hook this wagon to stopping passengers even ! Most of these OHE cars are self-propelled.
