The guest house of the former ruler of Chettinad (in the days of the Raj) at Chettinad railway station. The Raja used to travel in a special coach of the erstwhile Dhanushkodi (near Rameswaram) - Madras Boat Mail from Chettinad to Madras. According to local legend, the locomotive pilot would position the train on the platform such that the door of the Raja's coach would be right at the red carpet extending from the guest house for the Raja!. 2005-11.
