  4. ISR North Western Railway locomotive, Vulcan Foundry

Locomotive supplied by Vulcan Foundry to Indian State Railways for its North Western Division. The date is uncertain. The scan was marked as being from Cassier's Magazine, 1891, however this is in conflict with what we know of NWR locomotives. This is an HP(S) class locomotive that did not arrive until the BESA standards were in force in the early 20th century. As per Hugh Hughes' locomotive lists, the first HG locomotive was built by Vulcan Foundry for NWR in 1907. NWR did not have any 2-8-0 locomotives before that.
