  4. BNR locomotive

Locomotive of the Bengal Nagpur Railway. This is a K(S) class de Glehn compound 4-4-2 Atlantic locomotive of the BNR. All fourteen locomotives of this class were built by North British, the first two in 1907 and the remaining is 1913/4. There were no 4-4-2s on the BNR before these, hence the date of this photograph is likely in the 1910s or 1920s. From "Railway and locomotive engineering : a practical journal of railway motive power and rolling stock" (date unknown). Scan from the Internet Archive of Book Images. (Admin)
