No. 148 was an Atlantic type 4-4-2 express locomotive of AP (Atlantic Passenger) class. Seen here at Asansol shed of East Indian Railway. It was built by Vulcan Foundry at Newton Le Willows in 1908. At its peak EIR deployed 46 locomotives of this class, the most for any railway company of the time.
