Atlast some works started for activating the line for the new platform at the east side of Ernakulam Junction..
The platform and new building was finished about 2 years before,but becuase of some technical problems,the line was not laid..

I, too, am curious about the obstructing pillar. Has this been shifted or removed altogether? How many operational platforms does the station currently have?

It was earlier mentioned that the "culprit" was an overbridge's pillar which came up in a place which blocked the tracks. How was the problem solved?
