Not even a bit of elevated platform.....difficult for old people....although the train doesnt seem to be overcrowded, people like to travel 'balcony class'....

The name is derived from Kaala Kund (Black Pond/ Lake). However it has been corrupted to Kalakand (a sweet which is more a specialty of eastern UP), but which the town has adapted as its own.
