One can have MU cables running along the length of the train(e.g. Saptagiri , EMUs) but locotrol is better.

One cannot have a MU jumper cable running the length of many coaches. It would create a lag in powering and could lead to rake parting. But there is another technology wherein the loco in the middle is controlled trough signals instead of the MU cable. ...
