Feb 5 2012. The day of the conversion of WR Mumbai to 25KV AC. 12925 Paschim Express headed by BL WCAM-2P #21861 "Balwant" gets ready for departure from Borivali. The train was hauled by a GOC WDP-3A from BDTS to BVI because of the power block.
Amidst all hustle-bustle of media giving all attention to 8321-22 which was running as special service of final DC EMU on WR. But, look at CR, a DC EMU spotted as Bandra-VT service even before a day of DC to AC conversion. That's CR for you.. :)

WR has installed this board on the Up harbour line at Mahim to prevent AC locos and EMUs from accidentally straying into the DC territory of CR . (Aadil)

For the records, the first WAP-5 arrival at BCT. WAP-5 #30001 has just brought in the 2952 Rajdhani. And just look at 21828 in the foreground.. Who would say that WCAM-1s should be scrapped after looking at this shining loco? It looks like a new loco awai

AC loco links into Mumbai are slowly stabilising. Here is the 12910 NZM-BDTS Garib Rath arriving at Borivali, headed by GZB WAP-5 #30034. Today, both the Rajdhanis and the Garib Rath came in with WAP-5s. Three BRC WAP-4s were also spotted at BCT. (Vivek M

Totally agree with Sachin and Akshay. Indeed it feels so weird; until the day of conversion it was WCAMx with all our fav trains. And suddenly, very next day entire landscape has changed. Feels I'm away from home..
Now, even ADI bound...

Agree with you Sachin. The WCAM-1s and 2s will be sorely missed. I have mixed feelings regarding these AC locos. After being used to seeing these workhorses (WCAMx) for my entire life, it feels extremely weird to suddenly see the WAPs in Mumbai. Somehow...
