The sky was indeed as blue as it appears in the picture. The problem was that if I exposed the picture enough to get the G9 in good light the sky would become over exposed. I had but no option but to equalize the histogram using Adobe PS.

is it possible to use polarizer and over-expose to get the desired effect.
