Sabarmati?

Diesel Loco Shed Sabarmati did not open until 1978 and even then it was holding only YDM3 class locomotives till about 1989 when the first batch of YDM4 locomotives arrived there.

ABR. All these YDM4A of the erstwhile WR were based at ABR. I guess these were manufactured in Canada. The YDM4s at the CLW.

Did Jodhpur/BGKT hold YDM4s then?

Traymbak, I do not recollect about BGKT. Later on the M4s were there. But in 1974, I do not really remember.

This locomotive is from Abu Road shed which is written on the bottom line of the front plate as ABUROAD. This shed opened in 1966 and soon grew to be the largest metre gauge diesel shed of Western Railway which held 112 locomotives at its peak (both YDM4 and YDM4A). Check out this picture as well.
Bhagat Ki Kothi was set up in 1972 but it was a Northern Railway shed at the time and normally its locomotives would not be seen hauling Western Railway train such as this one.
