was a contest needed in the first place :-)....they've should have sent a P-7 from GZB, just to contrast.

Can a P7 beat the charm of diesel WDM-2? I have serious doubts about that. Nothing except a steam loco can beat the charm of a GOC WDM-2.

Can't find anything greatly different about the loco. exterior except for the fresh coat of paint. Any strong reason for this loco.'s victory?

In a loco contest, exterior beauty is only a factor. They check its performance, how the gadgets work etc. This one must be a real performer. Do you have pics of the other locos that took place?

Poochi and Sriram Karthik are there too. Pity I could not stay on till the head honchos arrived for an inspection to announce the winners :-( And yes, more pics coming your way in a day or two.

This loco was working for TNEB last year as a shunter. It was working as an inferior loco shunting in ERS, CHTS etc. I think GOC completely overhauled it. Looks stunning now. Is that extra lamp in front a decoration?

Great are the people who were involved in overhauling this loco and making it fit for mainline operation and also GREAT IS THE INDIAN RAILWAY.

The positioning of the horn looks interesting. Of late i have seen many locos of GOC and ED sporting this change. I think the extra light must be for shunting purposes.
