During the late 1980's many trains had such mismatched coaches. We used to feel proud when our coach was red color in the midst of brown ones

Mismatching was a norm as late as 1997, the year when I travelled in TN for the first time and the coach in which we travelled was a Green / Yellow coach. Ofcourse, we felt so special.
