How does the signaling work in this case? What precautions do the LPs follow to ensure a safe run? Upto what point can they follow like this?

All the time the trains were moving on red signal. The LP's were on the intercom with Sahibabad. I am not sure till what point they can do it - but on that day, the trains moved like this till Ghaziabad.
