LOL. To the contrary, the request for proposals for selection of bidders for redevelopment works has been made and the timetable is: Last date for receiving queries January 25, 2008. Pre-Application Conference February 8, 2008. Authority response to queries latest by February15, 2008. Application Due Date March 14, 2008. Announcement of short-list March 24, 2008.

Hehe this is future NDLS? I'll believe it when I see it ;-)

The station design might be possible to achieve, but can we have the regular khatara ICF vibgyor coaches and red wappies instead of these swanky TGV lookalikes?

I hope it better remains a concept, as I doubt we will be able to maintain the conceptual cleanliness.

Jealousy? Lol! Shanx, here in Mumbai we have been shown dream concepts even swankier than these for everything right from CST to LTT to BDTS and even Mumbai airport and they remain just that- concepts! And from where are you getting those TGVs? Has Lalu ordered for them too? ;-)

waav man..looks awesome.!!Will Lalu make this a reality??even if a reality u sure can expect our grand masters WDMs and WAPS with ICF coaches in it.TGV alikes remain a distant reality and i dont expect them for the next minimum of years from now...

there is a major flaw in the design...where is the outlet for WDM's smoke?

Posted by Aseem Johri on 2007 Dec 29 18:47:15 +0000

Aseem..The icicle shaped hollow columns act as ventilation shafts and also carry natural light down.

One more question- why have the planners not thought of providing platforms on both sides as found in CSTM and Churchgate? It would have helped in effective movement of huge crowds.

Posted by Karan Desai on 2007 Dec 30 04:21:01 +0000

yuck... TGV-like locos.... feminine-looking, characterless, soundless...

:p

I SAy>> First get Those TGV's down here!! Atleast a low end version!! As Aseem said cleanliness itself would require a planner cum concept!! if this were to be the Future NDLS.
