The sleepers on the Periyar Bridge at Alwaye is still wooden but the ones just next to it are concrete. Seems these wooden sleepers on the bridge have not been replaced for ages, while the ones just next to it on land gets replaced periodically. Alwaye, 2004-07-03. By Jimmy Jose.
