A great shot to match the wonderful location! Sachin's taken some beauties in recent times.

My assumption: He wanted to cover the entire train. Thats why the loco is behind the tree.

Erode loco in Ponmalai livery. A recent transfer to Erode from Ponmalai?

Soo close.... Perfect location, however it would have been better if the loco was at the place of the SLR. Did you use drive mode for this?

Looking at this (http://www.irfca.org/gallery/Uploads/200605241147u.jpg.html) snap in the gallery, I find that the new foot overbridge has come up quite fast. This means that the second platform can be used on a regular basis for passenger trains now. Earlier, this was just used as a service platform for freight, maintenance vehicles, crossings, etc.

The driving cab behind the loco, & the livery on the subsequent coaches suggest that the rake being used is that of the Diva-Vasai DMU.
