I remember our trek two years back at the very same spot to see the tracks washed away - a real heartening sight. Its great to the line in action once again - after news at that time that the line might never be fixed again:(. Vivek - is there a new alignment now since the tracks in the picture have not been fixed? Posted by Pawan Koppa on 2007 May 01 06:16:48 +0000 |

The space on right hand side of the track looks dangerously deep. Posted by Lalam on 2007 Apr 30 17:47:35 +0000 |

We should rechristen you as 'The IRFCA discoverers' :-) Beautiful pictures depicting a bygone era! I can't help feeling a tinge of sadness when visualizing a YP-hauled MG train snaking through those bridges and tunnels. Do we have anyone from our club who can recount the MG days on this section? Hi Vivek. Thanks a lot for sharing wonderful pictures. 551 differs significantly than 501. It does not have bulge in hood and radiator looks smaller. Posted by Prakash Tendulkar on 2007 Apr 30 12:54:10 +0000 |

It is definitely the loco built at the Parel Workshop. The windscreens are similar to those in the pics of the new loco in the newspapers. It looks new too with a larger cab! Posted by Akshay Marathe on 2007 Apr 30 12:19:13 +0000 |

Oh so nice to look at the bustling station - there is even a tea stall on the right!! Far cry from the time in 2005 when we visited - this was a desertede area and we were wondering whether the station would ever see passengers again- really wonderful to see the sea change!
