Karan, the BG tracks are comparitively newer, only about 10 - 15 years old. MG is much much older and since it is bound to die out someday, no one is bothered about its upkeep.

Similar practise is also followed on the NG line between Bharuch and Jambusar on the western railway.

Similar Railbuses also run between Merta Rd and Merta Town enroute to Bikaner. Merta Rd falls on the Jodhpur Bikaner section. I have a video of this taken at Merta Rd, will try and provide the link for you tube.

Is there a BG line coming from Khodiyar to Sabarmati directly via Chandkheda?

Posted by Dr.Jitendra Mulky on 2010 Apr 13 06:34:44 +0000

Dawn

I thought the MG platforms at Sabarmati are some distance to the northeast of the BG platforms. http://www.wikimapia.org/#lat=23.075152&lon=72.5882149&z=17&l=0&m=s&v=9 Therefore the lines to the left would also be MG. The BG lines would be to the right, beyond the tree.
