Cute. But considering who this doggie belonged to, is only unwarranted publicity by the PPS!!! Even after the train left, these guys were still busy giving interviews and comments.

Pune gang never ever misses this day at all.. Kudos to Pune Gang for covering this occasion every year in greater detail. Even the official website of CR while listing the list of CR long distance trains, states - "Deccan Queen - Pride of Cental Railway"

Thanks for the update, Vijay! This is exciting news - lots of parallel action in the LTT-Thane section. Hopefully, on my HWH-CSTM Duronto trip on Aug. 24-25, I will get to experience some thrilling parallel action in this section.

Mani - just day before yesterday, while returning from office at night from Kanjurmarg towards Thane, I happened to see a WCAM3 hauled train to LTT, at Bhandup, immediately, being overtaken by Udyan hauled by WDP4. It was a beautiful race between an Electrifying Electric Loco and Mighty Diesel Loco ;-)

Now you have such AC type OHE, right from LTT till Thane and from Thane till Vashi/Nerul on T-HB lines ;-)

Yes Mani. As of now - Compulsorily all LTT bound trains and trains from LTT use 5th 6th new lines, till Thane. And as of today-April-22,2011, YArd linking of VVH freight yard with 5th 6th lines are also complete and OHE linking is in progress. Tonight and tommorow night, we have megablocks at Vidyavihar for this linking. And perhaps, from Sunday, freighters will also start using the new lines till Thane. Rest all trains from / To DR and CSTM are still on 3rd 4th lines, and wont be diverted into new lines. So the bonus is - You get to see wonderful overtakes, between 2 expresses, and also between 2 EMUs, 1 Exp on all 3 lines headed to either direction. Especially the stretch from Kanjurmarg till Mulund is good stretch to see the trains zipping till 80/85 on new lines, as these new lines have been opened up right at 90kmph MPS.
