The LHB coaches look very smart! Does anyone know when these
coaches will be introduced on other train services such as
Howrah Rajdhani?

Jimmy, it is not in a train, but in the yard. I posted the photo as a result of the discussion about the Vaigai/Pallavan and MG AC Chair Cars; they are used on the Ajmer-Jaipur Intercity.

Jimmy, as per Rabi's post some days ago this coach was indeed part of the Vaigai/Pallavan rake during the MG days. Unfortunately its no longer in that spectacular yellow-green livery but back to drab VB maroon.

Is this the same coach that was once used in Pallavan / Vaigai? And which train is this?

No, it's actually a very good view when you are sitting next to the window. When prepared for sleeping, the LB is just under the window, so again there is an excellent view. But in 1AC there is no corridor side window from the compartment, so no view at all on that side.

poor window design ! I doubt if one can see anything outside while sitting or sleeping ! Might be OK for Aisle seat.

Interesting picture....though I have to mention that I am unimpressed by the cheap interior decor, plastic chairs, etc. IR needs to spruce it up a bit, at least for trains like the Deccan Queen which is of nostalgic significance in the history of railways in India.

I see it as sloppiness on the part of IR. A consistent livery gives character to a train, especially so for a train as prestigious as the Rajdhani/Shatabdi. If functionality is the measuring yardstick, then why have liveries in the first place.

i have travelled 4-5 times on first ac coach of 2809-10 hwh bomaby mail v ngp from bbvt to hwh. from my observation on RCF/ICF I AC coaches, the lhb first ac coach is not having any wash basin as provided in other I AC coaches. also the windows have been reduced from 2 for a cabin to 1 this i doubt will reduce the viewing pleasure for avid train buffs. what abt the other ammenities dustbin, cupboard, mirror are they still there or removed. i also remember that ICF/RCF I AC coaches had 2 reading lamps for the LB are they still 2 in LHB or reduced to 1 . we had night lamp and a bracket lamp in rcf coaches and a small staircase to reach ub . are they still in LHB coaches..???
