Once the biggest NG junction in the country with 5 lines radiating from it (to Miyagam, Pratapnagar, Samlayam Chhuchhapura and Chandod), today it has been invaded by the BG giants. But services are yet to start on the Vadodara - Dabhoi BG line.

The Dabhoi - Malsar train has a 3 hour halt at Miyagam from 15.15 to 18.10, so it can actually be considered to be two separate trains. End to end passengers from Dabhoi to Malsar would be better off traveling by road (30 km)

The NG station is to the east of the BG station, and definitely seems better maintained.

The rake sharing of the trains on different sections can be seen here. The board reads Dabhoi - Chandod - Miyagam - Malsar - Dabhoi.

Sorry, just checked the timetable. The Choranda - Malsar line is still open, with again one service from Malsar to Dabhoi early in the morning and the return service in the late evening. Three intermediate stations in between Choranda and Malsar have closed down.

Are all these coaches originally used on this line, or are they put together from here and there?

I just love the semi - arid scenery in parts of Gujarat, sand all around, with just the right amount of greenery to differentiate it from a true desert.

Choranda Jn. earns its junction status because of a branch line to Malsar, which is now closed down. I think it this line which is present in the picture, because Miyagam - Choranda - Moti Koral is a straight line.

It is not actually a long halt. The service ends here, and the train returns as its counterpart, Choranda - Dabhoi Passenger.
