The canal, AFAIK. However, a lot of it would have been expanded over the years, like this feeder possibly.

RA nomenculture is for inspection carriage(populaly known as saloon) used by higher grade railway officers for inspections . Its origin may be in abbribiation of " Railway Administrator " but I am not very sure of it

As per latest instruction , all carriage used by Principal HOD and above & DRMs are AC
