There is an embankment in the background. I may be mistaken, bit is this just south of Nizamuddin station? The embankment in the bakground would lead up to the Ashram flyover.

Vrij, good observation about electric traction, but Palval(Mathura-Delhi) line never had MG. Loco looks like WG.

Looks as though the steam is on a track beside the electrified tracks, and not under wires. Could it be a MG line beside an electrified BG?
