By the livery it looks like BIA wag5.

WAG-4 has Bo-Bo bogies .. so this must be a WAM-4(the early ones that were used on freights) or a WAG-5

A short search for this locomotive yielded a match <a href="http://images4.fotopic.net/?iid=yxzlpq&noresize=1&nostamp=1&quality=70">here</a>.

Intercity

WCAM3 #21889 seems to be the regular power for the IC. Co-incidently, this same loco had done the inaugural run of the 2128 IC from Pune. My IC of 16th December 2006 had it as well!!

The steepest gradients are between Akathumuri (a small halt station after Kadakavur) and Varkala. A WDM3A will typically slow down to around 50 km/hr with a 22 coach load even at full throttle. I wonder what speed a WAP1 will go at in this section.

How many P-1's have been transferred to AJJ? I saw 22027 last night on the MAS Passenger.

Not many between ERS and QLN. I dont remember the exact figures. After QLN there is one of 1 in 70 or so at Kadakkavur. The WAP 1's can easily handle the 23 coach load in this sector

Jimmy, how are the gradients between ERS-TVC? Can this loco manage the load?

Interesting to note she has P1 style windshields and not the newer larger P5 style shield. Even 22543 has the newer style. Wonder what happened to this loco.
