I had missed out this scene even though I was present on the PF of Karjat. Thanks to Ashish I too am able to enjoy this special photo of the two generations of locos / two different varieties of traction power capured in one frame and the bond between the mainline LP's and the Banker LP's.

I was lucky too that I could visit and see the WCG's in action in their last few days of working life. We ought to push these great workhorses to various musuems. A few should also go to the new proposed musuem @ LNL.

Looks as if the Jumbo has shut one eye.

Any idea if :

1) This loco has been spotted with Indrayani express regularly?
2) The same loco draws the train right from / to Solapur?

Also we know that the newer generation will very soon take over the road number currently used by the older generation.

Great to see 2 generations of locos in a sigle snap. The LP's acknowledgement is a great capture.

Ujjawal, it is indeed a hardworking Jumbo as after bringing the 1021 to Pune, it was doing the duty of up and down Karjat Pune Passenger. This was spotted by Pritam Koli yesterday.

Many thanks Ashish for capturing it. Hat's off to this 2500hp monster for bringing it on time with a tough time table plus halts of Dadar, Thane, Kalyan and Karjat. I
was pretty sure that 1021 will reach on time since a day earlier 1022 passed Kurla 5 minutes late with additional brake testing halts of Khandala, Monkey Hill and Nagnath.
