@Karan, my observation is that people do not tend to 'shout' at the victim possibly because of 2 reasons.. 1) Even they are too numb to react 2)The shouting may confuse the victim much more and the fear may make him rooted to the spot

and not because of the perverse pleasure of seeing people knocked down.. (Of course there are some but they are far and few)

@Milind: Just general observation. Having travelled on Mumbai locals daily for years I have seen many runovers and for some reason unfathomable to me, there are always people who stand and stare at the "victim" (and NOT shout/alert him) as the entire drama unfolds, some even move closer to "scene of action" to get a better view. I myself have never been able to withstand the gory sight.

@@Karan: why do you think that half of them would be eager to that guy getting knocked off? What pleasure would they get by passing judgment on his folly? I cant see the logic behind enjoying such an accident.....
anyway the camera would have fallen off my hands if i were shooting this picture...

Please have a look at the sparks generated by the Memu in AC power. How dangerous it can be travelling rooftop in ac power. It is as follows;

I was at the time there when the photo was shot. In fact most of the trains passing had same scenes. The locals look to be quite expert in this, but Poorva was a bit fast for them to take risk.

Isn't he scared of such a big beast approaching at high speed. If he would challenge the WDP4/WDG4, the HT horns would have shaken him off and would be run over. I have seen a similar death at the Lc gate of Vikhroli.
