Manish has guessed it correctly - This is Mysore Jn. platform No. 3 and the train is 965 Hassan - Mysore passenger. Manish is also right that in 1982 Bangalore was hardly a tourist town and whether it still is is open to debate. I am NOW replacing the modified image (station name was obliterated for the Quiz) with the original which shows the station name.

Madurai? Have only been there once and that too in the BG era, but I think some of the platforms are curved.

I don't think SBC would have qualified as an important tourist destination in 1982 :-) My guess would be Mysore.

Ooty never had these type of locos. This should be SBC, then PF 5 or TPJ PF 1.

The station is Rameswaram and my guess is that the train is Egmore - RMM passenger.

Reminds me of days gone by. Can still feel the hissing loud engines, the coal dirt and the ash on the tracks. Thanks for sharing.
